Good morning Resident,
With the darker evenings drawing in, now is a good time to think about keeping your home, vehicle, and property secure. A few simple steps can help prevent opportunist crime:
🔒 Lock doors and windows whenever you leave your home and before going to bed. As the nights get darker earlier, offenders may take advantage of homes that appear unsecured. 💡 Light up your property. Consider using outdoor lighting, particularly motion-sensor lights, to deter unwanted visitors and make your home look occupied. 🚗 Secure your vehicle by removing valuables, locking doors, and ensuring all windows are fully closed. Don't leave bags, coats, or other items on display. 📱 Stay alert to scams. Be cautious of unexpected phone calls, emails, text messages, or social media messages asking for personal or financial information. 🚲 Protect valuable property by marking and registering items such as bicycles, tools, and electronic devices. 👀 Report suspicious activity. If something doesn't look right, trust your instincts and report it. In an emergency call 999. For non-emergencies, contact police on 101 or report online. 🤝 Look out for one another. Keep an eye on elderly or vulnerable neighbours and let them know about current crime prevention advice.
By working together and remaining vigilant, we can help keep our community safe.
Have a safe week everyone. 👮♀️🏡 #CommunitySafety #CrimePrevention #NeighbourhoodPolicing #KeepingSafeTogether | ||
